Then you can download the "combo updater for SL" to get to 10.6.8, the latest and most stable.
Assuming you have Intel CPU and 1 GB (2 GB is better) memory.
Make a good CarbonCopyClone or SuperDuper clone first ... not all installs go well.
You can't. No eMac has an Intel CPU.

Highest an eMac can go is 10.5.8...
Leopard requirements/10.5.x...
* Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor
minimum system requirements
* 512MB of memory (I say 1.5GB for PPC at least, 2-3GB minimum for IntelMacs)
* DVD drive for installation
* 9GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
Trouble is appl no longer sells it, you have to search eBay & such for the full retail version, not any grey Install Disc.
There are workarounds if the 867MHz is the only hangup...

I up graded from 10.3.9 tp 10.5.8 and my eMac is all over the place - Imovie limps. I cannopt burn DVDs, but i can burn CDs. I also lost all my iPhoto pics , but luckily I had a back up of them. I lost all mt emails. iTunes was unaffected.
Stay with what you've got.
Cheers
Yeah dude, just upgrade to Leopard, Leopard really isn't far off Snow Leopard, or ven Lion in my opinion, feature wise or security wise. You can't install anything above Leopard on a G4 (which is what all eMacs are equipped with) as Snow Leopard and above requires Intel... Stick a gig of RAM in it and it'll run great 🙂
